Scratched Sunflower

Kathleen Fisher
No Photo

I was thrilled when the subject of "no photo" dropped into my email inbox— I had just finished a mixed media piece that summed up my vision of this perfectly.

This sunflower image has been worked over with scratching tools and paint, before being cut up and re-arranged. Essentially, it's a photograph that has been disguised and turned into something else.

I've also posted this on my own blog, so check out Scratched Sunflower if you want to know more about my inspiration and technique.

I'm curious to see what everyone else does with this trick subject.
