Literally Driven

Lorna Sim
Driven to Abstraction

The night was really warm, so we had the sun-roof open while driving home from dinner. At one stage, after getting tired of shooting the same old streaky light shots through the window and windscreen, it suddenly occured to me that I could try a new angle and format. So there was I, hanging on tight to my dear DSLR with a wide angle lens, on top of the car roof and had a ball shooting tons of moving shots like these!!

Lorna, you dare-devil. With you hanging onto car roofs and Bob diving in the Bahamas, I'm beginning to think we're adventurers, not photographers. I love the skies in these two shots.

These are fantastic, Lorna! They must've been a blast to do. They're strange and alien and so completely different from other through-the-windscreen shots.

I especially like the lower image. The image provokes curiosity as to the purpose of the journey - Joni Mitchell's "Night Ride Home" is something that springs to mind. I hope that you were not simply being taken for a ride!
